Rally in Los Angeles to Protest the Persecution Wins Support from Tourists

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held activities at Santa Monica Pier on July 26, 2026 to tell people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 27-year persecution. Several tourists said the persecution is horrible and that the whole world should stand up to stop it.

Practitioners began the event at 10 a.m. by doing the exercises, which attracted the attention of many tourists and residents. They read the display boards, learned the exercises and signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Tourists Encourage Practitioners

Alexander Bentley from Kentucky said, “I just got a brochure and will read it in detail and share it with my friends. This [persecution] is appalling.”

John Exley from the UK agreed with Falun Gong’s principles [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] and said he admired the practitioners’ steadfast belief.

Tourist Masa Kitani said she had previously heard about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, “I am well aware of the injustices suffered by this faith group and the various atrocities they have endured—including torture, abuse, and forced organ harvesting. I sincerely hope the CCP will put an end to this persecution. No government should prevent people from believing in God.”

Exley said, “Regrettably, many people around the world choose to turn a blind eye for the sake of money and profit. However, we fully support the actions of Falun Gong practitioners and hope that the United Nations, as well as countries like the US and the UK, will take action to put an end to this persecution. We stand with Falun Gong.”

His wife Irana Exley added, “I think the whole world should unite to counteract the CCP regime.”

Practitioners Call for Release of Relatives in China

Zhen Min addressed the rally and requested the CCP regime to release her aunt Ding Zerong, a practitioner from Henan Province, China.

In her remarks, Chen recalled how she was left destitute and alone after her parents were detained by the CCP for their faith. It was her aunt, Ding Zerong, who stepped in to help her complete her education. Before she practiced Falun Gong, Ding suffered from various ailments and relied on medication to sleep. After taking up the practice, her illnesses vanished without medical treatment—a remarkable transformation witnessed by her friends and family.

But such a kind person is imprisoned for belief. Ding was arrested in April this year for distributing information about Falun Gong and she is imprisoned in Xinxiang Women Prison in Henan Province.
