(Minghui.org) Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners in the Netherlands rallied in front of the Chinese embassy in The Hague on July 29, 2026, to protest the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) arresting practitioners in Changchun, China, around July 20, 2026. According to incomplete statistics from Minghui.org, 96 practitioners in Changchun, Jilin Province, were persecuted in the first half of 2026.

Ms. Wong KaYan, head of the Netherlands Falun Dafa Association, said at the rally, “Today we protest China’s persecution of Falun Gong and the arrest of practitioners. According to incomplete statistics from Minghui.org as of July 22, 2026, four practitioners were sentenced in the first half of 2026, 37 were arrested, 41 were harassed, 13 practitioners’ homes were ransacked, one practitioner went missing, and three practitioners were harassed by the authorities. We condemn this in the strongest terms.

“According to reports, the incident in Changchun was part of a coordinated operation surrounding July 20, the day when the CCP began persecuting Falun Gong 27 years ago. The authorities arrested practitioners and forcibly collected samples of their blood and saliva. Practitioners’ personal items, including toothbrushes, hats, and bags, were also confiscated for biological sample collection.”

Ms. Wong called on the CCP to “release all Falun Gong practitioners and immediately end the persecution.”

Calling for the Release of Family Members in Changchun

Ms. Liu Yanjun spoke at the rally to protest the arrest of her older sister, Ms. Liu Yanchun, a 74-year-old practitioner in Changchun, by the CCP.

Yanjun said, “Yanchun has been persecuted many times. She was arrested by officers from the Changchun Police Department in 2003 for posting information and explaining the facts about Falun Gong to people. She was handcuffed behind her back, hung up, and beaten. Her left arm was permanently injured as a result and she can no longer straighten it.”

Yanjun and her sister Yanchun, after being followed for an extended period, were arrested and their homes were ransacked on the same day in September 2012 just before the CCP’s 18th National Congress. Yanjun said at the rally, “We were held in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison and forced to sit on small stools for extended periods. Our toilet use was restricted, and we were deprived of sleep, starved, and had cold water poured on us in the winter. We were not allowed to bathe or wash ourselves in the summer. We were tormented to the point that we developed high blood pressure and heart disease, and we both had strokes. Yanchun was arrested again this time because it was almost July 20, the day when the CCP begin persecuting Falun Gong 27 years ago.”

The Netherlands Falun Dafa Association submitted the case of Liu Yanchun’s arrest to Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF). This case has received close attention from human rights organizations.

People Condemn the CCP’s Atrocities

American tourist and engineer Mickol noticed the practitioners’ rally as he passed by the Chinese embassy. He said that, as an American, he found it very difficult to understand how the Chinese government could treat a 74-year-old woman like this .

“The CCP is barbaric and horrifying,” he said. “It’s heartbreaking to see such things happening today.” He said that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the principles that practitioners uphold and live by, are fundamental principles that everyone should abide by and that the government should not persecute those who believe in them. A practitioner told him that the US Senate was considering passing the Falun Gong and Victims of Organ Harvesting Protection Act. Mickol said he would look into it and contact his representative to urge him to support the bill.

A man who works in the EU took a brochure detailing the persecution of Ms. Liu Yanchun. He pointed to the sentence “Belief is not a crime” and said, “I completely agree. Everyone, regardless of race, skin color, or nationality, should have freedom of belief and should not be persecuted because of their beliefs!”

He read the brochure and said, “It’s horrible, unbelievable!” He then asked, “Can I take this with me? I work in the EU, and I will discuss this with my colleagues.”

Do Everything Possible to Stop the Persecution

Gokhan, a Dutch practitioner of Turkish descent, works as a manager. He is a certified public accountant at a globally recognized professional services network company and has a busy schedule. He took time off from work on July 29 to attend the rally to protest in front of the Chinese embassy. Gokhan began practicing Falun Gong after he learned about it at a health expo in Germany in 2017. The pain that used to bother him disappeared after he began practicing. Because he lives by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and his character and conduct are exemplary, his company appointed him as a moral ambassador for his region.

Because he’s personally benefited from the practice, Gokhan often participates in activities to tell people about Falun Gong. He said, “I hope more Chinese people can understand that there is nothing wrong with practicing Falun Gong. It benefits one’s physical and mental health and contributes to social stability. Only evil forces would treat kind people this way. The CCP and its evil deeds in persecuting practitioners must be exposed and stopped as soon as possible. I hope people all over the world continue to learn the facts about this and not be deceived by the CCP’s lies, condemn the persecution, and do everything possible to stop it.”
