Since April 25, 1999, Jiang Zemin has been devising schemes for persecuting Falun Gong and its practitioners. Let us see the various despicable activities conducted by Jiang's henchmen and accomplices at the Chinese Air Force Institute of Command.
After April 25, 1999, the Institute used a huge amount of money and purchased a telephone monitoring system to spy on Dafa practitioners, and to monitor and control Dafa practitioners' activities.
On July 1, 1999, Professor Yu Changxin was lured away from his home, being told he was needed in some discussion. The old gentleman has never been allowed to return home since. A special air force committee comprised of 20 people conducted private interrogations on him. The committee used various appalling methods to extort a confession from this 74-year-old gentleman. They did not allow him to sleep for several days, which caused him serious damage both mentally and physically.
The evil people from the Institute illegally searched his home twice. The people in the search team were like bandits and robbers, turning his home upside down. They even confiscated an ordinary dictionary and other personal belongings. In the end, they did not find any violation of financial laws, since Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books for which Professor Yu found publishers all have official permission for publication and are thus not illegally published. Still, lacking any criminal evidences, Jiang Zeming openly violated the Chinese Constitution and personally ordered a heavy sentence for Professor Yu. This 74-year-old cadre who had made great contributions to the nation, to the people, and to the air force was sentenced 17 years in prison. It clearly shows Jiang Zeming's treacherous and sinister nature; members of the special committee responsible for sending Professor Yu to prison received promotions for their actions.
During this period, Professor Yu's wife, a Dafa practitioner as well, also came under tight monitoring and was eventually expelled from her home at the Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Jian are retired cadres. Mr. Zhang has refused to write any self-criticizing papers from the very beginning, and wrote everyday from memory the poems in Hong Yin by the Teacher. As a result, the Central Military Committee sentenced Mr. Zhang to two years of forced labor at the air force detention center in June 2000. Mrs. Zhang is still being illegally held in jail. While in custody, her home was searched; the evil people confiscated many Dafa materials. In particular, they found a time when the Zhang's daughter was not at her home and confiscated many Dafa materials and a computer from their daughter's home (the computer was later retrieved). Furthermore, these evil people sealed the house and forbade the children from returning home to get cloths and other personal belongings. These evil people also employ tricks to hide information about detention locations from their children, and prohibited any one from seeing them. When Mrs. Zhang's 78-year-old mother came to Beijing from out of town, she was not even allowed to see her and was even prevented from entering the Institute.
Ms. Jiang Zhongqin, a retired cadre at the Institute, is still being held illegally to this day, because she insists on practicing Falun Dafa and appealed in February 2000. Relatives are not allowed to see her.
Ms. Liu Fangfang, a family member at the Institute, was turned in to a local Public Security Bureau station because she practiced Falun Dafa at home, and was later expelled from her home at the Institute because she insisted on practicing Dafa at home. Her home furnishings were forcefully removed.
Ms. Yang Jianfang, a family member at the Institute, was arrested during an appeal and was expelled from her home at the Institute. She has to rent a place to live outside the Institute. Her husband was also demoted because of her practice.
There are still many practitioners in the Air Force Institute of Command who are being monitored, and who don't have any personal freedom.
