I have had so many troubles and confusions in my life although I am just an ordinary female factory worker. It was Falun Gong that told me the importance of "De" (virtues). To have De, I started by being a good person, constantly cultivating my virtue and correcting myself if I committed a wrongdoing. I had a feeling after I began my cultivation that Master Li's Fa (Great Law) was like a waterfall that completely cleaned my body and soul. With my improved physical and mental health, I have had pleasant and joyful feelings that I never had before.
After the Chinese Central Government banned Falun Gong last July, I thought to myself, how could I stop practicing Falun Gong just because the government did not allow me to. At that particular time, I encountered the following two incidents.
My brother-in-law is working the night shift as a security guard for a community civic center. After becoming a practitioner, he has been working hard and being very responsible. His superiors trust him. He suddenly fell onto the floor with the symptoms of cerebral thrombosis (stroke) and became paralyzed over half of his body. Cerebral thrombosis is not a everyday disease. An ordinary person in this situation would have been hospitalized for a long time. His superiors came to see him and urged him to go to the hospital. My brother-in-law said, "I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I believe that the symptom is only my tribulation, and it will go away if I keep doing the exercises for a couple of days." His superiors did not believe him, and they raised the issue of whether they should start hiring another guard. My brother-in-law knew that a security guard would be replaced if he was absent for three consecutive days. It would be a concern for his superiors if he was out sick for too long despite the fact that they all like and trust him. So, my brother-in-law asked them to give him seven days if they believed him, otherwise, he would not mind having someone else fill his position. His superiors said that they would find a substitute for the seven days. They left his house with disbelief that my brother-in-law would be back to work in seven days because at that time he could not feel anything in half of his body and could not stand up even with the help of two people.
On the seventh day, my brother-in-law suddenly thought about the promise he had made to his boss that he would go to work in seven days. My sister still had doubts although she had seen him recover rapidly over the past six days. He was still very clumsy with the half of his body that was paralyzed. My brother-in-law said to his wife that he was able to do it. He walked downstairs by himself and took a taxi to his workplace. His superiors were all shocked at the sight of him, and they kept asking, "You really didn't take any shots? You really didn't go to the hospital?" My brother-in-law replied, "No, I just stayed at home and practiced Falun Gong. I never took any medication or shots, and you can ask the doctors in the hospital." His superiors finally believed him, and they allowed him to study Fa at his workplace. My brother-in-law was soon able to ride his bicycle to work, and all symptoms of cerebral thrombosis disappeared.
Mr. Wang, a neighbor of mine, is more than 50 years old and has all sorts of illnesses. For many years, he had sustained his life through medication and frequent hospitalization. Mr. Wang's daughter, a Falun Gong practitioner, asked him to practice Falun Gong as well in order for him to get rid of his pain and suffering. One day, Mr. Wang's wife accompanied him to a practice site to learn Falun Gong. He kept practicing for two months, and his condition changed rapidly. He did not have to take medicine or shots anymore, and he was also able to carry his wife on his bicycle, pedaling it to the practice site every day. After July 1999, Mr. Wang stopped practicing. His health deteriorated quickly, and hospitals had no answers for his multiple illnesses. Mr. Wang's son went to the police station and talked about his father's health situation with a police officer he is acquainted with. That officer had seen the amazing improvement in Mr. Wang's condition, and he therefore gave the Falun Dafa books back to Mr. Wang and allowed him to practice. But it was too late. With great regret, Mr. Wang died after stopping practicing Falun Gong.
I came to understand from the two incidents that Falun Gong is the heavenly Fa for saving people. Only through cultivating my xinxing and eliminating karma, can I have peace in my heart, and reach consummation and enter the kingdom of heaven.
Since July 1999, superiors from my workplace have asked me several times whether I would continue practicing Falun Gong, and my answer has always been positive. I said that I would keep practicing because I did not want to sink any lower morally. What I meant to tell them was that I did not just want to do anything I was told to do, and I wanted to do something for myself. I have come to realize through my cultivation that I will do what I believe is right despite the fact that others do not allow me to. I can't have others control my fate, and this time, I want to live for myself.
