Some Facts About the Case in Which Practitioners Were Assaulted in San Francisco

According to the newspaper, Falun Gong practitioners encountered some Chinese Americans in San Francisco's Chinatown. However, my friend who was at the scene witnessed a different scenario. At 8AM on October 22, over one hundred Falun Gong practitioners were practicing in a group at Huyuanjiao Square. It's quite common for practitioners to do the exercises outside. San Francisco was also hosting a Fa (law and principles) experience sharing and promotion conference.
At about 11AM that morning, over thirty Chinese who spoke Cantonese suddenly approached practitioners and began to tear up Dafa materials and newspapers. Practitioners tried to stop them and take pictures of them, but several large men rushed over and stole the camera. They smashed the camera onto the ground, but then put it in their pocket. One of the practitioners was beaten and his shirt was ripped off. Another practitioner tried to stop the assault, but he was also beaten until blood flowed from his mouth.
My friend said: "Those people who beat up the practitioners are not really Chinese Americans. As long as someone pays them, they'll do the beating. In fact, this is not the first time that they've beaten up people."
During the entire thing, according to my friend, none of the Falun Gong practitioners fought back or yelled back at those people. He then added: "If the practitioners had gotten mad, then there would have really been a mess."
My friend also told me that according to the record from the police questioning, those people were hired to specifically deal with Falun Gong.

One of my friends once said to me very kindly: "Why do you Falun Gong practitioners risk your lives to make these appeals? This way you're sacrificing too much. Why don't you wait until the right time comes? One day the truth will be revealed to the world. It won't be too late then for you to practice." My friend did speak out what's on many kind people's minds.
Falun Gong is the most profound cultivation way in Buddha Fa. There is a fundamental difference between Falun Gong and any organization or political party that is fighting for democracy or freedom. What we are cultivating is "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance). To cultivate "Zhen," we should always follow the truth; to cultivate "Shan," we should abandon selfishness and ego and try to attain a state of unselfishness and no-ego; to cultivate "Ren," we should be able to endure every hardship no matter what kind of evil befalls us, and we should always keep a benevolent heart, not fighting evil back with evil or fighting violence back with violence. Since last year, the government led by Jiang Zemin has given us the most tyrannical suppression that is unprecedented in history. We adopted the most peaceful way, appealing, to express our firm belief in Falun Gong. If we kept silence or backed away when faced with evil, then we would be doing poorly in cultivation. Now the facts are proving that we are making it through the hardship. We are not afraid of any sacrifice and we firmly cultivate "Zhen-Shan-Ren".
All the people of China and in the world are paying attention to us. More and more people have learned the truth. It is also true in Mainland China. We are enduring enormous pain. However, we believe that we can wake up people's consciences. Our blood will not flow in vain. We will bring a good future to China and the world.
