Recent Situation in Zheng-zhou City

Currently, many practitioners who had been tried secretly are being detained in the Shi-ba-li-he women labor camp of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.

About 40 practitioners are under home arrest in the Qi-li-yan School of Public Security. Each practitioner is charged 108 Yuan per day. They would not be released unless they write a pledge promising that they would not practice Falun Gong and would not appeal for Falun Gong, and moreover, pay a deposit of several thousand Yuan.

Practitioner Zhou Hong-ying got arrested because the police officers found a photo of Master Li Hongzhi at her home when they checked her residence card. It has been about 5 to 6 months since she was arrested. She has a 3 years old daughter left home.

Practitioner Sun was imposed a stiff fine of 100,000 Yuan (10 times of the annual salary of an average Chinese worker) because he was suspected of collecting signatures for the appealing letter to the National People's Congress. Later, the fine was reduced to 50,000 Yuan because he could not afford the original fine of 100,000 Yuan. His deposit of 5,000 Yuan was also confiscated.

Now most practitioners in Zhengzhou City have resumed group study of Falun Gong. 3 to 5 practitioners volunteered to practice Falun Gong together. They are attempting to recover the cultivation environment.
