On March 29, Falun Gong representatives attended an NGO-sponsored hearing at the United Nations that was focused on the radical deterioration of China's human rights situation and won support and sympathy from dozens of non-government organizations (NGO) and government representatives.

9AM Geneva time, the hearing, co-sponsored by the Free China Movement and Freedom House, started. Representatives of Falun Gong as well as the China Democratic Party presented speeches, respectively.

The speakers at the hearing provided ample evidence of the Chinese government's violations of human rights and international laws. They called on the representatives with voting rights (at the on-going UN Human Rights Convention) to support the US-sponsored resolution that condemns the People's Republic of China for its worsening rights situation. Many attendees of the session have expressed their belief that only pressure from the international community will prevent China from continuing its policy of large-scale rights violations.
