Dear Lloyd,

I am writing once again regarding human rights abuses being carried out on practitioners of Falun Gong in China. I appreciate your recent letter that states you are closely monitoring the situation.

I understand that you will be travelling to China next week. I urge you to take this opportunity to question the Chinese government's treatment of the Falun Gong. I would once again ask you to stop putting trade considerations ahead of human rights.

I trust you will let me know what concrete actions were taken by yourself during this trip to protest the appalling treatment of Falun Gong by the Chinese government.

Sincerely Yours
á

The Honorable Lloyd Axworthy
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Dear Mr. Minister,

I am writing to you in regards to an issue which is very important to me, my constituents and Canadians in general. The issue is human rights.

I understand that you will be visiting the People' s Republic of China on July 14th. I would like to know what you, will be doing about the severe human rights violations which have been occurring in China.á Practitioners of Falun Gong have become the latest targets of the communist government, and yet Canada has remained conspicuously quiet on this issue. Will you voice the concerns of Canadians across the country in asking the Chinese government to release Falun Gong practitioners from jail? Will you voice the concerns of Canadians in demanding that Human Rights be respected in China?

Your prompt response to this urgent matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Rob Anders, MP
