June 26, an annual observance initiated by the United Nations, gives voice to victims and survivors of torture worldwide. Falun Gong practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate in Dusseldorf to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. When they also demonstrated the exercises, many people spoke of being drawn in by the atmosphere of peace that seemed to surround them.
