A government employee and his wife, a retired elementary school teacher, were given long-term prison sentences for their faith in Falun Gong. Their son, who doesn’t practice Falun Gong, was implicated and sentenced to seven and a half years.
Ms. Qin Hamei was sentenced to five years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. She was tortured nearly to death and released on medical parole. The local authorities kept harassing her at home, and she never recovered.
