(Minghui.org) During the latest wave of COVID in China, more people have become aware of the vicious nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which only cares about holding onto its power, not the well-being of the people it claims to serve.

One day, I ran into a woman in her 70s, and she told me, “You know, 37 people in my residential compound have lost their lives to COVID in the past few weeks.”

I nodded, saying that the Party has killed about 80 million people in its numerous political campaigns since the regime took power in 1949. “There is a Chinese saying that ‘good is rewarded with good, and evil meets evil,’” I said. “The CCP will meet its fate sooner or later, and we don’t want to sink with the regime. How about you quit the CCP organizations with a pseudonym of an kang (safe and healthy)?”

She said all right and added that her grandson, a college student, said he would never join the CCP.

“He also deeply regrets being part of the CCP’s Youth League,” she added.

Seeing her smile, I know both she and her grandson knew the CCP is bad. I then told her about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa and advised her to keep in mind “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”

“Agreed, we should strive to be good people,” she replied.

Another time, I saw a woman in her 60s sitting on the roadside. I greeted her and we had a conversation. Her name was Wei.

“This COVID is killing me, robbing me of energy,” she said to me. “Usually I can carry all my groceries home with no problem. But now I’ve already taken two breaks – probably need one more break before making it home.” Next to her were several bags of groceries.

Wei said her husband had a fever last December, so he took some flu medicine. But there was no improvement. He went to a hospital three days later and the examination showed a low oxygen saturation level. “There were people everywhere in the hospital and we could not find a hospital bed,” Wei added. “We were so worried!” Fortunately her nephew worked at a different hospital and secured a bed there. With no ambulance available, Wei and her husband took a taxi to the other hospital.

During their brief stay in the first hospital, they saw three patients die there. “It was so scary!” she said.

Her husband stayed at the second hospital for 22 days before being discharged. Looking back, Wei said her sister always told her the CCP is not trustworthy and people should find the facts themselves. “But I did not listen. It was not until this time [when her husband fell ill] did I realize one can never trust the CCP,” she explained. “The CCP always claims others are spreading this or that rumor, when in fact, this regime is the biggest liar.” She said the CCP had been lying to people all along, from the Tiananmen Square Massacre to the persecution of Falun Gong and other issues.

I agreed with her and asked if she would like to renounce membership in the CCP organizations. She said yes and thanked me again and again.
