One Year after the Mass Arrest in Heilongjiang, 16 Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced to Prison for Their Faith

Over 100 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested in Daqing and Harbin (the capital city of Heilongjiang) on November 9, 2018. The authorities monitored their cellphones and social media activities in the months leading up to the arrests. This report follows the cases of 16 of these practitioners who were sentenced in the past several months.

The preparation of large-scale celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Chinese regime resulted in intensified persecution of practitioners in the months leading up to it. Arrests and harassment took place in 26 provinces and centrally-controlled municipalities, with Hebei Province seeing the most cases. At least 152 practitioners remain in detention. 

Falun Gong Practitioners in China Forced to Divorce after Refusing to Renounce Their Faith

According to data collected by the Minghui website, at least 389 Falun Gong practitioners from 24 provinces and municipalities in China have been forced to divorce due to the persecution. Due to the information blockade, the actual number may be much higher.
